Looking to do a three night trip on the BMT, which will be my first trip on this particular trail. Thinking about starting around the North Georgia / Tennessee border and hiking south about ten miles per day. Does anyone have any tips, advice, or anything to assist me? I'm in the very beginning of the planning phase and was hoping some advice from here would help. Thanks in advance

Thunder Rock to Bushy Head Gap would probably be a good section for you. It starts slightly north of the Tennessee Line on the Ocoee River and ends on a road that can be found without a lot of looking. It is about 37.4 miles.

Is there a place to leave a car at the road?

I don't remember one at Brushy Head Gap. IF you went NoBo there is great parking at Thunder Rock. That or shuttle back to your car.

Plans have changed a little. Now thinking about leaving one of our cars at Dyer Gap. Has anyone parked there before? Is it a decent place to find and park at?

I don't remember there being good parking at Dyer Gap.

I saw on a old thread that there was parking for a "few cars" and that there was a cemetery nearby that you could park at. Does this sound right or ring any bells?

Yes, that is true. There is a cemetery there with a covered outdoor "chapel". There is probably parking up near it.

I just finished my BMT sections in GA .. moving up into TN sections next ..

IMHO Dyer Gap would be a much better overnight parking place than Brushyhead Gap (tight roads/little parking/neighborhood). However, Dyer Gap is about 6 miles in on unpaved road .. From GA-5, west on "Old GA-2" to Watson Gap and turn south (don't block USFS gates). Cemetery is 0.2 miles north of BMT road crossing.
