Woody Gap to Lance Creek 3/21/14

Short overnighter to just past Lance Creek. Trail in very good condition - being used much - trail is a distinctive dark brown path through the light brown leaves. Passed many hikers. All springs flowing well. Not a lot of trash which I was happy to see!
At least 20 campers at Lance Creek.

Thanks for the report! Good to hear people are practicing LNT. Have the bulk of the through hikers gone through? Thinking about doing a short hiker over Easter weekend into Unicoi Gap and just wondering how crowded it might be?

I think you'll run into quite a few hikers. Back in 2010, I did a section from AFSP to Neel over the Easter weekend and the trail was a zoo. :)

The sign in book at Amicalola Falls Lodge (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Amicalola-Falls-Lodge/115158441879505) has over 800 hikers headed to Mt Katahdin."
