Folks I have started a gear closet for hikers who have lost or have had their gear stolen. Some items I will buy and I hope some of you will donate some.

So far I have a backpack, Therma Rest, 40 degree bag and some hiker whatnot's. Slowly we will get it supplied.
For those of you who are reading this thread my idea is to get enough gear together so if I hear of a hiker in distress that has lost their gear or have had it stolen someplace along the trail I would be able to help. If you think this is a good idea you can start your own gear closet or donate some to me. I am buying items as well, I purchased the Therma Rest on a good deal.
I got this idea when Seven lost his gear on the Greyhound. Greyhound found his pack and shipped it back and he is back on the trail....
I think this is a good idea but it will take time to work the kinks out.....
Listen folks if you come across a hiker in need because of a mishap and they are just too broke to replace said item let me know I may have what they need.

You might want to consider boots and shoes in usable condition, Larry. When we met with Dakota Joe in MD I so wished I'd had a spare pair in my pack!
