hey hows it goin im planning quite far ahead for a thru hike, which will (hopefully) happen next year. i want to space out the time i buy my gear, and only buy what i need first. i got this gear list online, then searched and found my own items. if there is no link beside an item, then i already have it. this is a rough list, and im very open to any suggestions as i have lots of time to try out different things. thanks in advance guys.

The format makes this tedious/confusing to read and you are likely to get more feedback if it is presented a little different. The links make it impossible to tell what product you are talking about without clicking through each one, and there are many duplicates. For example you've linked to at least 5 rain jackets, are you asking for feedback on each one? There are many, many existing gear lists posted which could give you some ideas to help narrow it down a little.

As mentioned redo your post with specific names of items.

As previously noted, your formatting in your post is hard to follow your gear selections. Geargrams.com has a nice program to enter your gear in to create lists. If you have the actual piece of gear, weigh it & record it in the program. If you don't have the gear, you can use the manufacturers weight as an estimate (usually, it is heavier than listed).

You noted that you had two pair of socks. One pair to be used as mittens. I suggest you have a dedicated pair of gloves. ALWAYS have a dry pair of socks to sleep in. There will be many days that you'll put on wet socks & shoes to hike in.

I'd say 'Yes' to hiking poles. They really help when going down slick downhills. Even your young joints will benefit from them.

I'd say 'Yes' to rainpants. At least in the beginning. Lot of cold rain if you start in GA in March/April. When it gets warm, you may consider sending them back home. Personally, I carried mine the entire way & was glad I did.

Bottles or hydration bladder? Personal preference. Some opt for both. I prefer 2, 1-L bottles (cheap & light bottles, i.e. AquaFina, Smart Water, Gatorade, etc) w/ a 2-L platypus container for additional capacity in camp.

Many people report that synthetics will stink more than the wool. I find this true, especially with socks. I love my underarmour shirts for breathability though. I've never had a wool shirt.
