I'm in market for a late spring-early fall bag/quilt...I have a 15 deg marmot helium bag that I love for cold weather. I'm thinking about a quilt vs bag??? Most of my hikes are on southern AT but plan to thru the JMT this Aug with wife. I'll prob let her use helium as she's only going to hike first 60 miles to reds then I'll continue on w helium if cold. Should I try a 30 or 40 deg quilt/bag? Looking at ee revelation??

I have a 20 degree EE, and I took it out for the first time this weekend. I loved it. I think the temps went down in the mid 30's the first night and the low 40's the second night.

I went with 20 as opposed to 30 for the "just in case" factor, plus I believe it's easier to cool off in a quilt with too low a rating than a sleeping bag. For example if I get to warm in the quilt, I can just throw it partially off me, or lay with my feet sticking out.
