From Freezer to oven

In about a week I head down to SW Virginia to section hike the better part of the state (up to the SNP). Looking at the national weather map, it's already in the 80's down there! The low was 31 at my house this morning!

This is going to be one heck of a shock to the system, going from the freezer up here into the oven down there. Oh well, the last time I hiked VA it rained 20 days out of 30. Actually, I think I prefer the rain over the heat.

We're due for near-80F here in MA, for several days starting Saturday. 70 as I write this. Nights have been cool, 40-45.

Be careful what you wish for. We may end up going from cold wet spring to sizzling heat.
