While I have enjoyed many countless miles from my Omega, b/c of my age I'd like to down grade to a smaller, less heavy pack. The Omega weighs over 7 pound empty!!
My problem is I bought mine so long ago during a time when capacity and empty weight didn't matter, only that it is what you wanted and it carried all your gear.
So my question is this: I'm having trouble finding comparable size packs, internal or external, b/c I don't now the capacity of my Omega. I know there are some of you that have used or still use this pack. Does anyone know the cubic inch capacity size of the Omega pack? And please don't have a debate over cubic inches vs weight capacity vs whatever volume choice use personally use.
Thank you.

Thanks guys!! I do recall there were a few times I was glad I had all that space, but now I am doing things differently. If you were me, if the capacity was 5000 on the Omega, what would your new capacity be down graded to if carrying 5 days food/snacks and gear/clothing?
Would 4000 work? I ask b/c 3000---3500 seems rather small.

A tape measure. A calculator. Do the math. Google will convert cubic inches to liters for you. Packs nowadays seem to be quoted in liters.

4,000 cubic inches is close to, or equal to, 65 liters. There lots of 65 liter packs on the market and lots of happy users. I own a 63 liter pack and have a hard time filling it. Take your stuff to a store and see if you can get it in a 65 liter pack.

Yep. 4000 cu in = 65.5 liters. Go for it.
