Late July section hike from grayson highland to damascus

Hey you guys,

I am trying to plan a section hike from Grayson Highland To Damascus, or Vice versa since I am in northern va.

It'll be late July ( maybe later depending on drought type weather and heat recommendations )

I will be taking my dog but was wondering just how to get back to the other trail head once we hike "down/up". Maybe have someone park a car at each spot. I live about 6 hrs away from Damascus. ( I really need to move closer to the mountains. The closest trail is 3 hrs away. )

Park in Damascus and get a shuttle to VA 603 trailhead at Fox Creek. It's 42 miles hiking back to Damascus and your car.

The local outfitter does shuttles, or contact Lone Wolf here on Whiteblaze.

A shuttle is cheaper than paying gas for the second car.

Gypsy Dave shuttles out of Damascus as well and is a wonderful human being. He shuttled us to Massie Gap for a hike back to Damascus and went out of his way to help out when my hiking partner had a medical emergency. He is listed in awol's guide.
