having some tape for blisters is cool I wrap a small amount of Electrical Tape on my hiking pole to keep it handy... Duct Tape is so damn sticky its hard to remove off backpacking objects...

Just curious if you would have better suggestions

Here is Vibram 5 fingers to get the ball of tape rolling down the trail!

Just the right size without having to re-roll (which I always seem to make a mess of). http://www.amazon.com/Adventure-Medical-Kits-Inches-Rolls/dp/B00CLFUMVE/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1400241875&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=hiking+duct+tape

I'm supposing you want something better, rather than just something more expensive like the above poster...

Leukotape (http://www.amazon.com/Jobst-Leukotape-Sports-Tape-15/dp/B0009Q1OPA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1400250128&sr=1-4&keywords=leukotape) is made to be applied to skin.

kinesio tex tape is good for the spots on your foot that are prone to blistering. It stretches in one direction but not in the other, which makes it easier to put on without any wrinkles.

It's not as good as duct tape for repairs.

For feet: moleskin
For repairs: sail repair tape

Leukotape. It's the only stuff that will stick to my feet.

Where do you guys buy leukotape? I haven't looked real hard yet, but Kroger and Meijer don't have it. Tks!

Most drugstores will have it, sometimes by another name. I don't hit the trail without it. As soon as I feel a hot spot coming on I stop and tape it up.

I have both Luekotape (for skin) and Tenacious Tape (for gear) packed.

Another leukotape vote. If my feet are sweating then I can't keep duct tape from sliding, but I've never had an issue with leukotape even over multiple days.

I bought mine from amazon....one roll should last years, unless you're out hiking 200 days a yr.

I tried that Liquid skin for blister treatment a couple of times it seems to work pretty good, but i do prefer Duct tape over anything else.

+1 for kinesio tape. It is latex-free. Leukotape isn't.

Check NASA. I've found all around general purpose, multifunctional, day to day, DUCT TAPE!

The other day I tried Gorilla Tape for the first time. Kinda like Duc Tape but very sticky and strong. I don't know how it would be for blisters but I bet it would work great for temporary and quick repairs to gear.

I use Leukotape exclusively in place of duct tape. Blister prevention on a hot spot, gear repair, etc. It breathes (duct tape does not) and sticks like a son-of-a-gun. I carry strips in my first aid kit so they stay in good shape (strips are attached to quick-release non-stick paper, like you would find under postage stamps or mailing labels). I find that if you wrap it on something like a hiking pole, by the time you want to use it, its stuck so well to itself that it's not nearly as good.

For those who have a latex allergy that''s good to know. For those who don't have a latex allergy, I guess that wouldn't really matter.

Using Bactine wipes before applying tape helps any tape stick better.
Another very useful item for repairs: zip ties
