Just seeing how many people plan on doing a SOBO Thru-hike 2015. Could use a Partner for some of the trip.

I'm doing a sobo thru-hike 2015. You could check the 2015 register to see other people doing it too. I'm starting in May.

I'm doing a SOBO thru-hike in 2015 too. I plan on starting Mid/Late June. It get's tedious to go through all of the registry as 1 in 10 usually is doing a SOBO.

Heading SOBO sometime after graduation(early June). I'm starting off with a friend and we wouldn't mind anyone tagging along :)

If anyone is still looking for a partner let me know. As long as it's after May 12th I can go anytime. Just need to get my spring semester of college out of the way.

Just noted the young age of several posters. They all seem to want to join a group. From my thru-hiking experience: If you are serious about doing a thru-hike It's you and the trail. No group thing. Hiking as a group is like coming to the plate with two strikes already against you.

Good point! One partner is OK, but the time it takes to do anything increases as the number of people involved increases.

I hiked a SOBO in 2009, did a mostly stealth hike, almost all night hiking and stealth camping. Good luck on a SOBO, its a hard start. I dont remember seeing most people I started around finish.
My advice, if you have not paired down your bag, Start 5 or 6 LBS Lighter than you normally would on a long hike. That way as you work through New hampshire and the end of the hard stuff you can have what I called a Luxury bag. All the food, snacks, toys, books and other gizmos to make the mid atlantic and southern states FUN! After NE the rest of a SOBO is a delight.

A lot of people heading SOBO in May or June. It would be nice to try and coordinate timing, especially if conditions are as bad as people say they are. Has anyone looked into shuttle availability in May?

I plan on starting at Mt Katahdin at that time, I assumed everyone who said SOBO meant the same.

Interesting point Grampie!

And to all looking for partners--don't worry! You will not be alone on the trail if you don't want to be. As sobos you may just have less options!

Looking to start mid-late June. What are SoBo's planning on for food on the start? Looking at the logistics resupply is not looking feesible for many days!

That was my plan as well, however, Baxter surely won't be open til late May or June with all of the snow this year. You think it will still be hikeable mid may?
