Is 48 days 20 hours 11 minutes too tough to beat?

Apparently the new record is 47 days....

...or 32 days if the other claim in this thread can be substantiated.

David Horton broke (set?) a supported PCT speed record with 66 days and change. Squeaky broke the unsupported PCT speed record with something like 84 days. A day less than Wall's record from 2003.

SQUEAKY'S time was actually, 81 days and 8 1/2 hrs, a few days shorter than Walls of 2003.

I was hiking in the Nantahalas late July and I was passed by a fellow, I believe he said his name was Trail Dog, and he yelled back he was going for the new speed record. This was near Burningtown Gap and he was heading South. He also yelled back that he had been out 43 days. He's probably mad at me becaused he asked me if it was going to rain that night and I said no. As you can probably guess it poured that night. He had no gear except for some kind of packbelt around his waist. The owner at Neel's Gap did tell me Trail Dog did break the record.
