I had to get a pic of this blaze. Stopped me in my tracks. Got a good laugh. Although a part of me was surprised someone had "de-faced" a blaze. hahahaha. So, do you know where it is?

Based on my close review of the blaze, when I was there, it looked like a normal blaze, but there was a natural split/knot in the tree forming the mouth,, then someone must have added the eyes/nose/spiked hair.

OK,, good try everyone,,,,,,,, This AT blaze is a few miles north of Hot Springs, NC,,,, an AT blaze for sobo's.

No, the mile before and after Thoreau Spring is well above the timberline. All blazes are on rocks or carnes but it sure would be a supprise if a southern tree with a blaze like that was to suddenly appear. The way our present administration does nothing to stop or slow down global warming it is possible in a few years we will have palm trees on knife's edge.
