Rock Gap trailhead, safe?

Just want to do a quick overnighter on the AT and wondering if anyone has any experience with parking for a day or two at Rock Gap?
Also, wondering what the nighttime temps may be for this weekend? July 19th.

Park just past rock gap at Standing indian Back county kiosk close to campground hike up glassmine gap to AT.

I've left my car at Rock Gap overnight several times in the past. No problems. Look at the weather forecast before you go out. The temps in these parts are forecasted to be a bit unseasonable (cool) for the next week to 10 days. :)

I parked there two weeks ago on July 4th for two nights and had no problem even though it was holiday when explosive devices are used quite frequently. :-)
