Some of you may know that Amazon has started an ebook subscription service (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/19/business/media/amazon-introduces-kindle-subscription-service.html?_r=0) similar to Netflix. For 9.99/mo you get to 'borrow' up to 10 titles at a time. The library is over 600,000 titles. I did a quick search and here are some of the hiking / trail related books that are available:

AWOL on the Appalachian Trail

Grandma Gatewood's Walk

A Long Way from Nowhere (Cont Divide)

Stumbling Thru (Book 1)

Skywalker - Close encounters on the Appalachian Trail

Skywalker - Highs and lows on the Pacific Crest Trail

The AT and me

Rethinking Life on the Appalachian Trail

The Trail Life

Two Miles An hour

To The Woods - A Journey Along the Appalachian Trail

Between a Rock and a White Blaze

The Best Way - El Camino De Santiago

Life On Foot - A Walk Across America

A Long Way From Nowhere - A Couple's Journey on the Continental Divide Trail

So if there are some books that have been on your list and you don't mind ebooks their new service might be for you. At least for the first free month :-)

I forgot to add that you do not need a kindle device. You can use the kindle app on any device that can run the app.
