View Full Version : Osgood trail "stealth" site

Its been a few years but when hiking down Osgood, I checked out the "stealth" site which is immediately after a Nobo would drop below treeline. It has enlarged a bit since the last time I went by. At best there is room for a couple of small tents and a couple of the trees might take a hammock hung real low. Its definitely a dry spot and the woods are very dense adjacent to the site. The closest water is Madison hut or way down Osgood trail.

Its a nice spot as just a short walk gets a hiker back above treeline with a nice view eastward. The ridge is quite exposed and even though a hiker would be officially below treeline it sure would give me the willies to camp there in thunderstorm.
