Thank you, WhiteBlaze, for all the support, info, advice and laughs... Last Saturday I finished my first state of the AT and it would have been a heck of a lot harder without you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9-wQjwL2ys (Now, how soon can I get back to NC??? :) )

congrats :)

How many days did it take you? You said "this was just an overnight hike" on the youtube description, but Im assuming it was a typo and took more than 1 night.

Well, good for you! :)
That's a nice feeling when you get something done and you can mark it off the list. I've completed over 800 miles of the trail, and still haven't finished Georgia. I'll get back there one o' these days.

Did you see any birds? :)

Ricky: This was my last leg. I did an overnight in June 2013 starting at Springer, and then Cooper Gap to Dick's Creek June 2014. I would say 8 days total because the first leg and 2 days of the second leg were pretty short. The first leg I had my 10 year old son along. The second I had issues with my toes that I think I have solved! This last leg was just to finish GA and then meet up with family at the beach. .................................Dogwood: hardly any in August, the woods were VERY quiet! I saw a lot in June though--scarlet tanager, black throated blue warbler, chestnut sided warbler to name the really good ones.

Congratulations.

I'm surprised at how few birds I see while hiking. And I am looking for them. A few Dark Eyed Junco and an occasional Pileated Woodpeckers and that's about it.

I don't think I helped... but I was happy to see how happy you are. I'd feel the same way. Woooo Hooooo! One state down... 13 to go! And some of them are really little. :)

I will be on the trail heading to N.C. in oct. Made it to Woody Gap from Springer last year and had to stop because of a knee problem. Congradulations:)

Very nice video. I forget the name of the effect, but I like how you have the photos moving even though they are still pictures. Always makes a slide show more interesting. Looking forward to more. Now I just have to get out there myself.
