I don't have a Kindle. Can I get a book version? Help.
I'm looking forward to reading Shonka's account which I know will be more than just a trail journal. It will be a life journal! I'm sure I'll learn more than just a few things. He has a way of seeing very deeply into himself and his experiences. One of the most truely honest and conscientious people I've ever met. Really uplifting person to travel and hike with. I think he finalized the writing of this book after his many other long distance hikes and international travels. Recently, he wandered parts of Central America and S. America, including the Andes sometimes during their southern hemisphere winter so those experiences likely influenced his writing here.

I started reading this book a few days ago. While you certainly wouldn't consider it a classic, and you can tell that the author sometimes tries a bit too hard to paint a word picture, it actually is quite well written (through Chapter 4 at least). Definitely worth picking up if you like AT books.
I read really fast (and this is a fast read...) I'm about 20% thru the book and it is mostly a trail journal. (I was sort of disappointed as I thought it would be more, given Dogwood's enthusiasm. Or maybe I just have to get more into the book?) I agree with kerosene. Author tries too hard sometimes, but it is written well. And it was free...

I've only parused it...but your in there... Dogwood's mentioned 21 times. "He [Dogwood] was youthful, with a speckled complexion and dark burgundy hair, and his pack was ultralight... He was also an extremely healthy eater." That's you, right? :) Ya show up 84% of the way thru the book.
