Lightest camp shoe/flip/sandal....

After last few nights of wearing bread bags at camp I've decided to try bringing camp shoes...I wear trail runners but do like taking off at camp to air feet out....what are lightest most functional options ...not worried about river crossings just camp wear ....tgx

I carry the lightest flip flops I could find. I think they are Adidas brand from Costco. My wife found some at Target that were even lighter.

I got a pair of slides that are so surprisingly light at a indoor flea market, I think for $4, perhaps $3. They have made great camp shoes and still going strong after perhaps a month of trail use. It pays to check those places out, you never know what you might find.

Yeah, and can you wade through water with them? That's what I miss more than a shoe to wear around camp.

They are neoprene slippers.
Some people put inserts inside them to give them more protection for pebbles and such.

These croc knock offs were on sale for about $5 at Walgreens yesterday. I was surprised at how light they are. I didn't buy (wrong size) and put on a scale.

I've tried homemade flip flops, with elastic. Just didn't work for me.

I do the best job of keeping my feet (and rest of me) clean and in good shape and blister free with cheap dollar store flip flops. When it hurts to walk in my "camp shoes", I'm less likely to walk 50-100 yards and wash off my feet. And dirty feet are my fast track to blisters. YMMV

I can't use flip flops because of my feet. I tend to roll off the edges so, I need something with a heel strap and find crocs and Teva type sandals better for camp and water crossing plus they dry quick.

What is the material on the bottom of the neoprene slip on, could they be used for river crossings???

They are simply a neoprene, one piece slipper.
Some people use them for fording rivers I believe.
Like I said, some put an insert inside for more protection.

These seemed great until I realized it was just completely neoprene and no type of support on the bottom. They're still really cool but at that point I will just wear socks.

I like to carry camp shoes that can be used as backup hikers if something should happen to my boots. Right now I'm carrying a pair or minimus trails, about 4 oz for my women's size 7. Previously I've carried Five Fingers, Yampa Chacos, tennies, .... The few extra oz over a flip flop is worth it to me.
