Anyone use ATMOS silicone waterproofing spray as seam seal? Seems easier than rub-on from tube. Work for silnylon?

I have never heard of ATMOS silicone waterproofing spray - Googled it but didn't find anything. I wonder if you meant ATSKO? ATSKO is a great product but has nothing to do with seam sealing! Most cottage industry gear makers take a waterproof sil-nylon fabric and then puncture it with a sharp needle thousands of times to sew the pieces together into a tent. You are trying to seal these holes that are at the seams of the tent from water intrusion. The ATSKO spray is for the rest of the surface area of the fly/tent if it is no longer waterproof. The ATSKO really won't help the seams. On a sil-nylon tent you must use a silicone based sealant as it is the only thing that will stick to sil-nylon.

take a look at the How to video on the Tarptent site.
Doing it that way you will have the silicone penetrating those stitch holes (not just covering them) and with the post application wiping you end up with a neat hardly visible job.

Persistent has already covered why you should not use a spray for this.
