Hi everyone, we lost our dog on Sunday morning, Sept 21, at the Pickle Branch Shelter, Craig Co, VA. She's about 50#, 15 years old, rust-colored, with weak back legs. Her black collar says "Roxie McNally, 540-220-0673 (tel:540-220-0673)" Please call that number if you see her!~

For those not familiar with the shelter or counties along the A.T., this is in central Virginia, southwest of Roanoke, trail south of Dragon's Tooth.

I'm not familiar with this section, but someone posted pictures of a lost dog on FB and said:

We met this guy just a little north of the Priest summit. He was extremely skinny and doesn't seem to have been cared for in awhile. I fed him and gave him water, and he followed us to the parking at VA-56. We left him there with more water. Hopefully someone recognizes him or wants to go up there and find him and give him a home. He's super sweet and got along with my dog.

Unsure if this is same area. They posted some pictures of the dog on fb too. Hope you find your lost dog.

If he made it from Dragon's Tooth to the Priest in a day or two, that's quite a dog. That's around 130 miles. Same general region, but it's not going to be the same dog.

The dog on FB is probably an abandoned hunting dog. I sure hope you find your pooch!

We found her! We received a call yesterday morning that she had wandered into someone's yard about 1/2 mile from the shelter. Roxie's home safe and sound. Thank you to everyone for your help and support!
