I'm wondering if the new, larger iPhone 6 will fit in a typical (ULA?) hipbelt pocket....

These old eyes are looking forward to a larger iPhone screen but if it won't fit in the pocket, well.. I'll have to figure something out.

Use caution when carrying the new iPhone. Apparently as they are more thinner than ever, they are susceptible to being bent.

iPhone 5: Bigger than your pocket.
iPhone 6: Bigger than your butt.

I'd wait until you score whatever case you will use.
From there- probably going to need to add something special depending on your rig.
FWIW- It's my only camera, so I keep it in my hip pouch or on my shoulder strap so it's handy.

I've got a Note 3 it's similarly sized. Not wedded to yakking as some seem to be so I'll carry it to call wifie when I get where I have an AT&T signal. Nice size screen and a stylus. For some reason my opposed digits and a touch screen are not compatible. As to size I haven't seen the iPhone spec, happy with what I got. I don't depend on it for anything else - camera or GPS. Some note taking and storing PDF files aka User Manuals and Solitaire.
