howdy....

looking for suggestions for various routes in the linville gorge area?

(and fwiw, i have a map from the forest service on that area so i can follow along).......

hey ewker---yeah.....im a member over there but hardly go over to read it......sometimes i get lost in there forums.........and not a good lost...

rainman----one or two nighters.....

experience level-----i get out about 30 weekends a year.........done all the smokies trails along with joyce kilmer/citico/slickrock areas.....and various other parts....


and, fwiw, i met you on the road by flats mountain trail a few months ago when you were with tipi and sara.......

just looking for new places/routes to go..........

I was there in August of all times before I went back to work. Hiked the MST from table rock to the river and did more miles after this. Cool Area. You may want to check http://friendsoflinvillegorge.org/tiki-index.php for up to date maps. They have really done a good job with them. If you are a member of the Gorge Rats, you were probably aware of this. I have the same forestry map from I believe 2009.

On the MST water is scarce, everywhere else no problem. There are some well maintained trails, and not so much. Be aware that Spence bridge is washed out.

Either walk the Gorge trail or the MST.
