I bought a set of maps & guidebooks a few years ago, on winter sale. I did go through them, an interesting read, but not with the intention to figure out where to pick them up & send them home. Since someone else out there has already done this, why should I reinvent the wheel.
I plan on getting a few small things sent to me, but not like all my food dried. So if you had your maps sent back and forth please share where.

I think I ran across a list of post offices etc, on this site before, any chance you know where and could help me re-find it?

I carried about 25% of the Guide and maps for whatever state I was in. My wife mailed the next sets at major towns: Hot Springs, Franklin, etc. Had a couple extra sent when I was taking multiple zero days for injuries. Had one sent to Standing Bear that was a package and a letter. Never got the letter, but the package got there OK.

You just have to decide how much you want to carry, look forward and have the next leg mailed IN TIME (emphasis added !!). I was told by the mail carrier at Standing Bear it didn't matter if you used next day or 2 day service: it all came down to being out in the country and the mail would be slower.

Another useful guide is Baltimore Lack's resupply article. http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/content.php/15-resupply
I downloaded it on my phone and referred to it often. I found it very useful.
