Although I've always purchased extra lean (read "extra expensive") ground meat to use in my homemade trail dinners, I got to thinking... Since we cook off the fat and drain the meat well, it really doesn't matter what fat % to use. But is cheaper meat a better bargain, since we are paying less for less finished product.
