Nat Geo has a great speaker series -- I work a couple blocks over from their DC HQ and go to a bunch of their events (including the Jennifer Pharr Davis one). Cheryl Strayed is speaking there in March and I just heard Conrad Anker and Lakpa Rita Sherpa speak on Sherpa culture last week. They also host the Banff Film Festival tour there in January each year. Highly recommended to anyone in the area.
