Providing you've been a "good" backpacker, what do you expect Santa to bring you this year to enhance your AT experience? Now, be honest! He's watching, you know.

He's watching, you know. That always creeped me out when I was a kid. "He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake." I think that it still gives me the willies.

I'd like 30-40 nights out. That's my New Years resolution.
I'm also good on gear. I bought a fuel canister with my last REI 20% off coupon.

Gear Gear Gear. Big Nick is bringing me some neato little items---
** Voile XLM snow shovel.
** Mt Laurel Designs eVent shell mitts.
** A couple t-tech Icebreaker t-shirts.

I was lucky last year and had my arm elbow-deep in Santa's Sac and out spilled many nice items. This year I hope to again touch Santa's Sac.

Honestly, anything i'd get I'd have to carry, so I really don't want much, got everything I need...more techy type clothes is always nice though.

And it's really hard to let Santa bring me outstanding gear like a new Hilleberg tent as any upcoming backpacking trip could be my last and then I'd end up surrounded by cadaver dogs with all new gear. Not good.

cadaver dogs?

I have been tracking Santa with USPS tracking.

I am looking for:

Pearl Izumi Relaxed Fit tights
Luke's Ultralight down vest and sleeves, and hood

I don't absolutely need more stuff. Christmas is a time to be grateful for how blessed I am. What comes to mind first when I think of Christmas is giving. I've come to appreciate giving, and receiving, not being just about having to shop or be shopped for, or giving or receiving materialistic things. The ability to wake up outside in nature on Christmas morn enjoying the sunrise maybe atop a summit or on a river while toasty in a sleeping bag and a warm joy in my heart is good. SERIOUS! Sharing Christmas carols with the usually lonely folks in the Old Age Home(they renamed it the Assisted Living Center), seeing my family, including 13 young nieces and nephews, and volunteering to serve dinner at the homeless shelter is sometimes part of my Christmas Day.

Hmmm, a box of Pro Bars Meal Variety 14-Pack, those MLD eVent mitts....

Oh, Santa baby.....

Dear Santa,

I'd like a Thermarest Pro Lite Plus air mattress, some Kahtoola microspikes, and a Feathered Friends Icefall parka.
Oh, yes,.....and a burrow! I need an ass to hump my Mystery Ranch pack with the big winter rig gear.

I've been a good boy this year.
Well,....most of the time.
Well,.....OK.....sometimes.
Well,.........just friggin' forget it. I'll buy my own dang gear and hump it myself.
You're just a big cookie eating fatso anyway.

Good health for 2015. I'm good on gear.

Yeah, this. I'd like to get my ankle fixed so I can hike again. I though the PT was working, but the last week has been pretty bad. Sigh.

A new guitar strap would be a nice stocking stuffer, though :)

Oh Santa, I think a Nikkor AF-S DX Ultra 10-24mm f3.5-4.5G ED wide angle lens would be great for the vista shots this hike. But if I am deemed to have been "naughty" how about some socks then, without coal or holes?

As I inform Santa at my house every year "There is absolutely nothing I need or want".

So, by definition Im always surprised with something I dont need or dont want, and have to smile and feign joy.

Not that I have everything, I just dont want anything. In fact, its the opposite. I want to get rid of stuff I have. Things, demand your time. To organize them, to care for them, to maintain them, to store them properly. They take up space and just clutter your life in general.

They also divert your attention from whats really important.

Hopefully Santa rememebers to bring my new boots from Salomon and my JetBoil MiniMo.
Also, a big bottle of coconut rum wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Other than that, I really don't need anything else.
