And I absolutely love it. Every drink from it brings me to my last hike... anybody else experience this?

It's called "bacteria is growing in my water bottle" ;)

Not so much. I can wash it and soak it with bleach (1cup to 1 cup) but the fragrance is still there...

Thanks for reminding me that I need to throw mine out.

If I can find my clear lexan ones, I will give them a sniff test as I harbor fantasies of more winter trips where they may have a place, but I'll bet they stink as much as the milky white ones.

My old white ones have to go -- they probably have BPA anyway and I don't have your sense of nostalgia.

I thought the water in Harriman tasted so good, I brought a couple quartz home.

You might think it tastes gneiss, but I think it's schisty. Anyway, don't take it for granite!

Back on topic, I do not want my water bottles smelling like anything. Harriman does have some gnelss springs, though.
