Where can I get a bit of sil nylon? I'm thinking of making a pair of "boot bags". Something I can put my boots in so when I put them in my sleeping bag to keep from freezing they don't mess up my sleeping bag.

Ha, ha, when I read the title I thought you meant a pair of 'Wonderbread bags' for inside the boot like my mother had me wear when I was a kid.

Ha ha, that brings back memories. Whenever we got snow it was heavy and wet, and the only way to keep from being miserable was to stuff your feet into bread bags before putting your shoes on before going out to play in the snow.

OP other vendors you can check into is DIY Gear Supply -- http://diygearsupply.com/ and Ripstop By The Roll -- http://ripstopbytheroll.com/

YC 15 - nice idea about using the sleeping bag stuff sack but only 1 boot fits in.
Other thoughts: Bring both the summer and winter sleeping bag stuff sacks, use the plastic produce bags from the grocery store, double bag the boots and bring a few extra bags, empty the dirty clothes bag and use it for a boot at night.

I carry a few plastic bags from the grocery store every trip. They come in handy for trash, a mat for muddy boots, etc. Why not just wrap - or double wrap - your boots in those?

Plus 1. Then the bag later becomes a trash bag and replace it the next time you resupply with another plastic bag.

Because touching a plastic bag while you're sleeping is far less confortable than touching silnylon.

When colder, touching "soft face" brushed nylon is much nicer. Nylon can send a cold stab right thru to the bone.
