$20 1/4 zip micro fleece at Academy

Just picked one of these up from Academy:

Very light, but it is fairly thin. Is this a decent mid-layer for use with a down jacket? Or should I look for something better?

for the most part, fleece is fleece. My teenage son wore a10 oz, $7 fleece jacket from walmart for several years.
and the rest of his gear is as high quality and $$$ as mine.

thin is good for layering and versatility and all around use.
you dont need much insulation while moving
puffys are for sitting still in camp

Just got home and weighed it, 8 ounces for a size large.

i wear mountain hardware micro fleece. love it. much more versatile .

Looks like the same type I get at WalMart. Good bang for the buck. Enjoy. :)
