Suggested towns to stop in/mail drop

I'll be section hiking this coming June from Springer to Damascus. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any must see towns to stop in along the way or to have mail drops sent to? I always hear people talking that you need to stay a this hostel or go into this town. Any advice is certainly appreciated. Thanks!

Must stop? Pretty much every town you want to buy food in, which is pretty much every town you go by.

Haiwassee, Franklin, Gatlinburg is a trip if you've never been there (really good steak and beer at the Smoky Mountain Brewery), Hot Springs (Elmer's is worth the tour even if you don't stay there), Erwin (Uncle Johnnies), Greasy Creek Friendly (bring a treat for the neighbors mean dog), Mountain Harbor B+B (best breakfast on the trail!) Kincora (the road to town for resupply is insane) and finally Damascus.

Some like to send a package to Fontana Village since the food there is pretty expensive, but your timing has to be good as the PO has limited hours.

NFG is probably the easiest parking lot to Yogi a ride into town.
