I just got a piece of Tyvek house wrap for a ground cloth under my tent. I'd like to get rid of that stiff, crinkly feel and sound. I know that the has been addressed before, but I can't seem to find it. Suggestions?
Run it through your close dryer a couple of times.

Keep wadding it into a ball and sit on it wrinkled up, eventually it will be full of wrinkles and folds and it will lose most of it noise. Takes a week or 2. Puff Turtle

The first time I washed mine was to get the crinkle out. Worked pretty good. The 2nd time was because of cat poop, made it even softer. Water temp when you wash it might be an issue. cat pop time was on hot water. Now it's slightly softer than my rain jacket. Can't really say anything about the water resistance.

Thanks everyone. I threw it in the washer, then low heat dryer It's better now, will probably do that one more time
Crumple, twist, repeat, takes only about 15 minutes. No need to waste the time nor water to run it through the washing machine.

I put my Tyvek in the washer with cold water, no soap and a couple of tennis balls. Then into the dryer on low heat and a couple of tennis balls. One time takes the crackle out of the fabric.
