I'll be attempting a thru hike this year and I've been faced with the unfortunate burden of a gluten allergy...

I'm looking for food suggestions that'll give me the sustenance I need to roll on, and are hopefully delicious at the same time.
I appreciate any ideas you guys have to offer! :D

You'll be able to resupply from some places on the trail, but I'd seriously start thinking about mail drops. Check out the resupply articles on the main page.

Food For Life makes gluten free products suitable for the trail. Their products are in most larger, chain type supermarkets.

Many Lara bars are gluten free and widely available.
My favorite trail bar: Boone Barrs. Several items are wheat free. Call and ask if they are also gluten free.

Earth Fare is an amazing food store chain throughout the southeast USA. Their vegan and gluten selections occupy a large part of each store. Their grass fed beef is to die for!

Walmart does gluten free too.

Good luck. Have fun!

Two other sources for you - you may know that ALDI, of all places, now carries an extensive line of gluten-free food. If you can take a run up to Northampton, Deals & Steals also carries practically every gluten-free product there is, and at a discount too. You never know what you'll find, but it is worth a trip!

For backpackers with celiac disease (the rare and only reason one would have to remove gluten from their diet), just Google "backpacking with celiac".

Not the only reason. Eosinophilic esophagitis is often triggered by gluten and is really bad news on the trail.
