Many of you were captured by the Kallin Family with the adorable Robin Hood (9yrs) and Cartwheel (7yrs) that thru hiked the AT last summer. Here is All In's TEDx talk on what it was like to watch his kids grow and learn along the trail. Just LOVE them!

Wired, Thanks, I ran into them in Maine , 2 days out from Mount Katahdin. Again congratulations to you and the Kelly family for your completion of the 2014 thru hike. Your positive attitude was a plus for many of the thru hikers on the Trail. I'm heading down to Springer in Mid March to do a little trail angel work and some hiking. Tic Toc

Not many teens today can live up to that, let alone young children. I have been watching their story unfold and have been totally taken back by those children. I wish I was able to meet them in Waynesboro. I need to purchase there DVD

Tick Tok! That 27mi day that All In talks about with me was the day we met you in Shenandoah and got trail magic! It was quite a day! Here's how I wrote about it that day. http://www.walkingwithwired.com/2014/06/day-44-drafting-off-wired.html#comment-1415568074

I was looking for you all through Maine and was bummed to miss seeing you go Sobo.

Damn Yankee, this is not the same family as the one that was selling youtube videos of their hike along the way. That was a different family with older kids.

Great video! Thanks Wired.
I followed your 2014 AT hike and enjoyed it immensely. You gave me white blaze fever and are partly responsible for changing my plansthis year to hiking the AT again. I was the guy carrying the bucket in FFF2 in2012, the film that made you think you could like the AT. Squatch is a character, right? Good luck on the trails you are tackling this year. Animal

Thanks for posting, in the midst of (slowly) talking my wife into this.
Congrats to you on your Triple Crown.:clap

I believe the family that Damn Yankee mentioned (Toe Salad is the Dad) has their videos available for free as part of a Backpacking Light Membership. They are Cannooks with three older kids.

I think I ran into them at The Barn. Wonderful video, and I'm glad they completed the hike.

I remember you Animal, ha! Great to hear you'll be back out there. As you well know, Squatch's final film of the Flip Flop Flippin trilogy is premiering in Portland at the end of February and will soon be available for purchase. Everyone that wants to see the adorable and aweswome Kallins in action, they will be in the flim too. Here's the link to where you can preorder the film and see the trailer. http://www.squatchfilms.com/

Great talk!

Wired, I thoroughly enjoyed your AT account, as I am sure many did here on WB. Your hikes with the Kallins, and later with Jet Cat, were a delight to follow.

Thank you Paul. It was quite the culmination, that's for sure. As a bonus, the 27mi day with the Kallins was also the first day I met Jett Cat:) All the way down in Virginia...and we didn't start hiking together until New Hampshire! Totally shaking my head on that one...
