Outage message for large customers — 11 a.m. Feb. 13, 2015
Some Postal Service information technology applications continue to be non-functional today following yesterday's unplanned network outage. The outage has resulted in postal email being down and is affecting some services offered at retail offices. Postal Service Customer Care Center operations involving agent assistance is impacted.
Scanning operations, including Track & Confirm, continue as normal. The outage is not affecting the acceptance of mail, mail processing or delivery.
This outage is not related to a cyber-intrustion incident. We regret the inconvenience this is causing and we are working to have all systems functioning normally as soon as possible.

It says USPS internal EMAIL is down.

Actual mail acceptance and delivery is not affected.

Actual mail acceptance and delivery is not affected.I went to mail a package today, and the women said she could take my package but didn't now when it would ship...so much for paying for priority mail. She put Old-timey stamps of differing denominations on it...no meter...I was shocked, It was like I was back in the 1990's  didn't know they still made stamps. :D

I'm a nostalgic person and every once in a while one of the older folks in my family will send me a package. Perfectly wrapped in brown paper, handwritten, with stamps. I love getting em.

Now the contents are a different story, normally some knitted scarf I'm never going to wear. I appreciate the thought though.

It's kind of neat how they just seem to know the amount of stamps a package will require. I remember little cards that would have weights and prices listed but I haven't seen one in 15 years.
