I'll be doing a section hike, Springer to Unicoi Gap, the week of May 18th. What can I expect for weather - temp's and precipitation?

It will rain on may 20th , with an overnight low of 42.

Honestly, there is no way to say. Overnight lows could be 30 to 65 F, it could rain or not. Days could be 50- 85.

You will get a forecast you can trust about 4-5 days ahead of time. Most
Iikely, night time lows will be 50-55, days in 70s. Pretty good weather, and spring is popping, you will see the green working its way up the mountains.

That's a great time to hike in GA, as the wildflowers begin to show up, but weather is unpredictable. Usually it's mild, but can be rainy, and might be cool at night.

Be prepared for frost overnight, but otherwise it should be very nice weather.

Beautiful time of year to hike that section. Long days, cool nights, not too many bugs. Just about everything will be fresh green. May have some bare spots at the higher elevation. :)
