Hello friends,

Does anyone have current information on mailing packages to Fontana Dam. I can't find information regarding post office hours or if the resort/village accepts hiker packages. Would appreciate any information.

Cheers

Thanks, I thought I has seen that page a few months ago. It looks like they only hold packages for guests only. I'll send them an email/call.

Call them to make sure, but I believe that the resort includes an actual post office facility. It is located in the same building as the store, outfitter, Ice Cream Parlor, Laundry, etc. The Inn is located in a separate building near-by. My point is that I'm almost positive that anyone can have their package held there, not just guests.

There was indeed a post office there. Check on USPS.com to see if it is still extant. However, the hours were very limited so check those too.

By putting Fontana Dam, NC in the search box on www.usps.gov I got that the post office is only open 11:45 am to 3:45 pm Monday through Friday. Closed Saturday.

hehehe my wife is still trying to live down the fact that she sent a drop to the PO instead of the store in '11. Thanks for the reminder and letting me forward the link to this thread! My little Trail Angel.......

If you're going to miss a food box, this isn't the worst place!
