I'm preparing for this summer's section hike and wanted to find out information about this hostel. I haven't been able to find a webpage or stories of anyone staying there. Any information anyone could share would be helpful.

Lots of mentions of folks staying there in trail journals and Big Tex has a write up on them.

i was just there in late Dec. last year while I hiked in the nearby Rocky Fork area. I used one of the people on his shuttle list and parked my truck there at n/c for 3 nights. He is planning on some new improvements this year. Basically the bunk room is and old 1 car garage and he does have a shower available. Also he does do some short order cooking and may have more items for re-supply. It looks like the bunk room is limited to a dozen or so and I'd say you could set up a tent also. The business is located really close to the road so expect some limited traffic noise. It's a long 2.5 mile road walk from Devil's Fork Gap to the hostel. The owner is really friendly and is expecting more use as this will be his 3rd year and there may be more hikers on the trail too. It's no 5star B&B but if the weather is bad and you are tired it should be a good place to be.

I was just looking for a place to get off of the trail for a night, get a shower and some food. This sounds like it'll work if I can get a ride.

Thanks.

It's only 2.5 miles from the AT and it's all down hill. Start walking and put your thumb out at passing cars. Back in the 80s before cell phones, trail magic and a hostel at every gap, a little road walking was just part of a hiking trip. Embrace the suck and check out the great views from the road while walking.....

Anyone know the phone number to Laurel Trading Post? Hoping to ship a resupply package there, but can't find a way to contact the owner.
