On Springer Mountain in 30 days

[2015 Lady Thru-Hiker]

Well, packed up the condo and moved my stuff into storage today. Will be hanging out with my youngest for the next few days then head to the ATKO. From there a trip out to see my mama in Oklahoma since she seems certain i'll get eaten by a bear and will never get to see me again if I don't come visiting first :eek: Will be wrapping up March with a long weekend with my two girls and 3 grandbabies. March 31 will see me heading to GA being driven by a dear friend who, out of the blue, called and asked if she could drive to the trail and walk the first few miles with me as I take off on April 2nd - which, by the way, happens to be my birthday. Will be toting extra Little Debbie Cakes to share with whomever I end up camping with that night. Hiking the AT after being driven there by a dear friend- best birthday present ever!!

What a wonderful send off FC. Thank so much for the kind words and well wishes. The days that aren't quite what I want them to be are the days I plan to remind myself of how long I've waited to do this, all the planning that has gone into making it happen and the good fortune I've had to have encouragement from family, friends and the good folks on WB!

You're only the 2nd person I've ever known with the same birth date (I am certain there are many more but prefer to live in denial and just believe we are that special :)) If we cross paths that day I'll have an extra Little Debbie for you.
