Wanted to post a link to a wonderful writeup on HammockForums.net about the experience of using a hammock on a thru hike. I would encourage you to read through the first 3-4 pages as the OP adds to his initial post, answering questions and adding more perspective in different areas. I think in his 4 or 5 first posts, he covers all you would ever want to know about using a hammock on the AT. Its not all hammock talk either, a great synopsis of gear used and other pertinent thru hiker subjects.
