This shows “What’s In My Pack” for my backpacking trip “Winter Wonderland” in March of 2015. The low was 5F (when we first started on day 1) and the high was about 28F (mid-day on day 2). The base weight of this load was just under 18 pounds. I have taken this same setup down to as low as -8F. Below is a listing of gear and weights. Thank you for watching.

Nice video. Pretty much what I carry in winter.

Two questions:
1. What do you do for hydration?
2. What type of stove?

Thanks. either melt snow or boil water. In fact on this trip 2 of us boiled water from a nearby stream and 1 melted snow. No filtering or treating. As for a stove, I am an alchy junkie..this time I brought my fancy feast that I made for my stove video. We all used the fire for 99% of our heating / cooking, I was the only one that used alcohol and that was just for a cup of coffee.

I hope this helps and thanks for the note.
