I simply find free books that I think/hope might have some connection to backpacking and post the links. I have no control over what books are available. I read this book to my 11 year old son, and we both loved it.

Thought I would dredge up this thread to say that this is a really entertaining book. And it's absolutely perfect for backpacking trips, when you're reading in your tent or shelter before you go to sleep. There's no plot to speak of--it's just a series of short vignettes from a couple that decided to visit all the national parks. As a result, if you're a weekend warrior or occasional camper, you can very easily put the book down for a few weeks and pick it up again when your next camping trip rolls around. I've been reading this trip exclusively on backpacking trips, and I look forward to opening the book up again each night when I get into my bag.

It's not free anymore, but the $7 Kindle version is still a bargain.
