Transportation- NOC or Winding Stair Gap

Hey everybody,

I'm trying to finish my trip planning, and all that is left for this section hike is transportation. I'm down here is Savannah, GA and will be traveling by bus to either the NOC or Winding Stair Gap. Where is the closest drop location? Greyhound told me, Asheville, NC which is 80+ miles from both locations. I saw a post that said Waynesville, NC. Is there a drop point in Bryson City, NC or Franklin NC. Anywhere for that matter that is a lot closer than Asheville?

Nope. There are very few places where you can get close to the trail by bus or public transportation in general and none in that area. Buses travel the interstate and only service city or towns which are a quick hop off the highway.
