How's this route for a six day hike? We typically hike 10-15 miles a day and the topo looks pretty good in this area for a nice week of hiking. I see 321 to Wilbur Dam Rd is closed to overnights due to bears, but I think we can work around that and still complete it in six days. Is this a good choice for May/June with the thru-hikers coming in or might it be too crowded? Thanks!

That is pretty easy mileage, so 10-15 miles per day is definitely doable. Most thru-hikers should be through by mid-May (i.e., a bit after Trail Days). I would expect hot weather in June, as elevations for that section are relatively low.

I personally like the hiking south of 19E more, but it is much more difficult.

It took me 4 days to hike that same section, and I usually hike about 17 mpd if that gives you a point of reference. Pretty easy hiking in that stretch, in my opinion.

US19 to Damascus is what I did the week of Thanksgiving. First day 60's great weather, great mileage. Weather turned got plenty of snow, lower milage. No snow, easy mileage.

South of US19 is much prettier IMHO.

Thanks, everyone. I will take your advice and do both. I'd like to see 19e NOBO and end in Damascus, but I'd also like to see 19E sobo and see those views. Happy trails!
