How would you go about doing this?

Hello all, sorry in advance for my noobishness. I am planning a cross-country hike which will utilize the AT for a month or so. There is only one specific instance I will need to do this, but I wish to order an item I cannot carry with me while on the trail to be delivered at the town in which I will be getting off the trail.

How does one go about sending an item to a post office for pickup as oppose to a home address? Information in this area has been harder to find then I expected.

Not hard at all. Send package to Your Name, C/O General Delivery, Town, State, Zip. The post office will hold a package for 30 days. They will require picture I.D. for delivery.

If it's a normally used AT "trail town" mark on the package "Hold for AT Hiker" as well.
