No drinking water is available at the Kirkridge Shelter (the last one in Pennsylvania, 6,.6 miles south of the NJ/PA state line) due to a break in the supply line. Hikers staying at Kirkridge will need to carry in their water until a repair to the water system can be made.

I'm planning a trip southbound and will be staying at Kirkridge next week. Where is the last water source north of Kirkridge? I just want to make sure we all fill up. If anyone has coordinates for water that would be even better. Thanks!

In looking at AWOL (2014 SOBO Edition) it looks like as if there is 5.1 miles north of Kirkridge between Council Rock and Lookout Rock. It is about 1.1 miles south of the
Hiker Parking lot coming out of Delaware Water Gap

I was just at Delps Spring, which has water, FYI. Well past Kirkman, but worth knowing for refilling.

So I've gotten a couple replies, but is there (im hoping) a water source closer to Kirkridge? Even if it's just south of the shelter that would work too. Thanks!

Are you looking for an A.T. concierge service to pinpoint exact water sources for you? The ATC was kind enough to send an electronic alert. Download a guidebook. It's a few button clicks.

FYI. I was just at Kirkridge and the water has been fixed and is running 😀

dturb,

Thanks for the update from the field. Glad water was there for you! We've confirmed that the repairs have been made.
