I was looking at the olicamp 1L pot and toaks 850ml pot.

Olicamp 1 L Alloy pot :

The olicamp has a heat exchanger, but I'm wondering whether this feature is worth the weight with an alcohol stove?
Also the olicamp comes with a plastic lid. Is that any better than a titanium lid?

It's 7.5oz vs. 3.7oz.

Waiting on others to reply. I own neither. OddManOut is a big fan of the Olicamp. It us a nice pot. Heat exchanger does save some fuel. Doubtful you will ever be out long enough on one walk to save 3.8 oz. I am not a big fan of Ti for a pot. Ti makes a good insulator as in a cone. Have you considered a KMart grease pot at 2.5 oz? The KMart grease pot has a claimed capacity of 4.5 cups. I would not want to put more than 3.5 cups in it.

I've tried a heat exchanger pot w/ a alchy stove. Yes it does work faster, however once you bump up the weight of your pot that much I have found it easier to just go with a canister setup. The advantage of using alchy stoves quickly disappear and even though the fins do help efficiency, the energy in alcohol fuel is just not there and while there are fuel saving, I have not found them significant.

Cooking in a finned pot is also a bit different as heat is concentrated where the fins are.

Keep in mind you will need something to pick up the hot pot as it has no handle.
