I know, I'm psycho compling a gear list for a 2008 thru hike...but I can't help myself!!!

Please let me know what can be done with this to get it lighter... or perhaps I've missed something and it will get heavier...oh I hope not.

Realize the tent , cookware, some other things are for two people. THANKS!

Looks like you are really taking time on planning! You certainly have time to test out this list. You'll soon realize if it works for you. Good luck!

Something to consider is do you even want to have a bump box you have to chase around for the likes of this stuff.

Cellphone charger - you could just go with a calling card and leave the cell phone.
Extra batteries, you can buy those where ever you buy food.
Hat with no-seeum netting - get it mailed to you when it is time for one.
Prednasone - carry a month supply and get a monthly mail drop?
Skin so soft - get a small nottle when you need it.
Spare lists?

Looks like a good clothing list for April or so. Only you can know your clothing comfort range.

COOKING & WATER
Bear Bag 3.00
Bear Line 50ft. 2.50
Camp Water Bag, 1.5g 3.60
Fuel Bottle, Full 27.50
Lighter + Matches 2.15
MSR Stove + Pump 10.70
Pots, Utensils, Cup 9.60
Water Purifier 3.50

You could get a lighter water bag. 1.5 gallon is about 6L, you only really need about 3-4 liters, so you could get a platy bladder with a screw top for about half the weight.
Loose the matches and just bring a lighter.
You could switch stoves to something ligheter and cut that by 2/3.

KITS Emerg. Water Tabs 2.00
First Aid 6.00
Hand Cleaner 1.30
Knife 3.50
Pack Towel + Soap + TB/p 7.50
Sewing Kit 1.50
Tent Repair, Mattress Repair 2.00
Toiltet Paper, Wet Naps, Lotion 4.00

Emergency water tabs and a purifier? You could go with just Iodine and save 4.5 (1/4 pound) or even iodine and Vit C to kill the flavor and still save almost as much.
Go through your first aid kit, you can probably cut the weight below 4 ounces.
That is a heavy knife. A Leatherman Micra weighs half as much, and some small pocket knives weigh less than an ounce.
Pack towel and soap with hand cleaner? A small pack towel is probably more than you will need at 0.5 ounces. You won't need soap and hand cleaner. Places with showers usually have some soap around them where I have showered on the trail. Another solution is to get a one ounce bottle and put in some Dr Bronners to use as soap and hand cleaner. A cut down Tooth brush and travel sized paste are about 1.5 ounces. So you could cut this down to 3 ounces, less than half your weight.

Sounds reasonable

PACKING Backpack 60.00
Dry Sacks, Garbage Bags 6.00
Hydration Bladder 3.00
Pack Cover 3.67

You don't need a hydration bladder and water bag. Get a used gatorade bottle to drink out of for about 1.5 ounces- half the weight.
You also shouldn't need a pack cover and a garbage bag liner, but I also understand being over prepared for this section - I still do something similar myself anyway :D

SLEEP & SHELTER
Earplugs 0.50
Mattress, Down Fill 21.00
Sleep Bag, 20, Down 20.00
Sleeping Bag Liner 5.00
Tent + Footprint 74.00
Total Weight of Selected Items 364.22oz.
22.76lbs.
Well you could eventually replace your shelter and pack to save about 3.5 pounds with many different choices, you will just have to figure out what works for you.

So with the little things I suggested, without a pack and shelter change, you could save about 3 pounds. Change your shelter and pack and you could save about 6 pounds.
