OK, I'm officially too stupid to use this tarp.

The straps at the ridgeline, aside from having an obvious synching loop that goes around the trekking pole handle, has an addition peice or webbing that I cannot quite figure out. I almost think it might be designed to rest over the top of the trekking pole handle to keep the cynching part from sliding down (which it does seem to do when you really get the tarp tight) but dang if I can get it to fit and stay seated over the top. Can someone with experience with this tarp explain how they configure and use these straps?

No experience at all with that tarp, but - have you tried flipping your trekking pole upside down?

If the webbing won't fit over the handle this may be an option.

Here's a picture. The main webbing loop will slip around the trekking pile handle just fine. The piece of webbing in the middle is confusing me. It slides freely and I don't know its purpose. It is only one inch wide, so I cannot Imagine any handle that narrow where it could rest over the top (which is what I figured it would be for).

I think that you had it right at first.
Keeping the set up you have in the first photo, slide the front of the pole handle in-between the front of the loop and the strap , you then should have the guyline pulling downwards keeping the strap "pocket"there .30692
(I could be wrong...)

If you are saying that floating center strap goes over the top, it is only 1" wide so I cannot get it to look like your picture. It just isn't wide enough to drape over the top. It is so frustrating because, to me, that makes the most sense.

My photo is just a quick mock-up of how I see it done, never seen your tarp in the flesh.

Thanks, I'll try it again and see if I can replicate what you have described.
