Looking at getting a tarptent notch or trailpro, any other suggestions similar in weight and price?
Interested in straight tarping it on the ground?
What led you to those two TarpTent models? What other shelters have you looked at?
Lightheart Gear Solo & Solong offer features not found in the two TarpTents you mentioned. They might be a little heavier and/or a little more expensive. Sometimes the liveablilty is more important than a few ounces or a few dollars.
On the other hand, the Notch & Pro Trail are fine by all accounts.

I'm a hammock guy but if I had to purchase a tent right now...it'd be the Notch. With the complete netted body.

I love my Notch, gonna break my heart to sell it if my back won't let me sleep on the ground any longer. I'm forced to convert to a hammock but I'll hold on to the Notch until I'm certain I can never go back to ground.
