Boring topic, but I lost a tip on my Komperdell poles on my JMT hike last Fall. I had to keep hiking obviously, so now there's bits of tiny rock, sand, etc packed inside of the exposed end where the tip should be. I need to remove this crap before I can screw in a replacement tip.

Has anyone had this dilemma? I really don't want to buy new poles, these are perfect with the exception of the missing tip. I've had no luck getting out the gunk.

Are you talking about the missing titanium tip? If so I think the whole hard rubber pole bottom needs to be replaced. I've done so repeatedly on my Black Diamond poles and used either Bk D or Leki tips for the job, just grab the pole with pliars and the tip with pliars and twist apart. Add new tip. (For Leki tips I have to hack saw an inch off my Bk D pole).

Do you still have google? Check out---

What's a google?

Dang I bought just the metal tips, but I think you're right, I need the whole bottom part.

Aren't Komperdell's lifetime guaranteed?

On edit: it appears it is 3 years, but also no receipt needed and they will fix anything 'no matter what happens'
